AIIGMA successfully concluded its Seminar on Industrial Gases and Cryogenics: Strengthening India’s Space Programme on 9 January 2026 at Hotel The Ritz Carlton, Bengaluru, in collaboration with ISRO and PESO. The seminar brought together senior officials, scientists, industry leaders and regulatory authorities to deliberate on the critical role of industrial gases and cryogenics in supporting India’s expanding space ambitions. Dr. V. Narayanan, Chairman, ISRO and Secretary, Department of Space, Government of India, delivered the keynote address and commenced his session with a compelling presentation on ISRO’s journey, highlighting its evolution, current achievements and future expansion plans. He emphasised the need for proactive collaboration with the gas industry and PESO delegates to build the required infrastructure and undertake necessary regulatory enhancements to meet upcoming space programme demands. Shri R. N. Meena, IPESS, Chief Controller of Explosives, PESO, Government of India, underlined PESO’s pivotal role in ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, and reflected on the coordinated efforts with AIIGMA during the COVID period to make India oxygen ready. The seminar proved to be highly promising and educative, reinforcing industry–government synergy and setting a clear direction for strengthening India’s space ecosystem through robust gas and cryogenic infrastructure.
